The National Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control was born form the merger of the Benin Agency for Standardization and Quality Management (ABeNOR) and the Benin Agency for Metrology and Quality Control (ABMCQ).
Created by decree No2017-031 of January 23, 2017; NAM is a governmental body governed by the law article No 94- 09 of July 28, 1994 on the creation, attribution and operation of Offices of a social, cultural and scientific nature. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry in charge of industry.
MISSION & VISION
The National Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control (ANM) is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the national policy for standardization, metrology, certification, product verification and the promotion of quality.
The agency supports goods and service providers to meet the challenges of competitiveness, attain sustainable economic growth, and in the protection of consumers and all other interested parties, all in accordance with the laws and regulations of Benin and with internationally accepted quality standards.
